The northern boundary of Canaveral National Seashore is only one mile away and encompasses the largest lagoon system in North America. The ranger station offers “turtle watches”, exploring by canoe, talks and classes. Here you can learn about the first Native American Indians who lived at “Turtlemound” around 900 A.D., and the settlement that grew oranges in the late 1800’s. Five separate beach parking lots offer the chance to see primitive beachfront.

New Smyrna Beach offers wonderful shopping with local merchants in a very picturesque downtown area. (Two malls are just 15 minutes away in Daytona Beach.) There are also several DAY SPAS for a relaxing facial, massage or just a place for a wonderful beach haircut. A wide selection of restaurants is found locally—menus are available in the condo.
