Because of the unique topographic features of Indian Pass Beach there are many different spots to choose from. You can hang out right next to the water or you can protect yourself in the cooler months between the natural sand dunes. You literally can walk the beach for miles. Indian Pass is one of the more popular bird watching areas in the country. Not to mention the almost daily sightings of dolphins frolicking in the water.

Bring your boats, your wave runner, your kayak, a sailboat, or rent one. There is a boat launch less than 1 mile away from 3 PALMS at the Indian Pass campground.

Here you can also stock up on supplies for fishing or snacking. St. Vincent is less than a quarter of a mile away by ferry from the Indian Pass Campground. You can rent bikes here, take the ferry across the channel and explore one of the most beautiful nature preserves found anywhere (link enclosed). Of course you can walk all over the island and fish or swim in total seclusion. Cars are not permitted.

SPEAKING OF FISHING

Indian Pass has some of the best fishing you'll find anywhere. Indian pass is bordered on the East by Indian Pass Lagoon, a shallow waterbed full of many varieties of fish and home to the famous Indian Pass oyster beds. The Gulf is on the west side, and I personally have caught eight different kinds of species of fish. At the tip of Indian Pass, by the campground, there is a waterway that comes from the confluence of the Apalachicola River and Bay that goes out to the Gulf. St. Vincent Island is on the other side of this passageway. This is an ideal fishing spot because of the travel patterns of the fish feeding and going out to the Gulf. This is particularly fantastic when the breezes are high out on the gulf.
See Links Page For More Info On Fishing

So when you leave the drive way of 3 PALMS you can turn right and enter the beach to fish or you could take a left and walk 1/4 mile to the Indian Pass Lagoon and fish, or go to the campground, and fish the protected channel. Indian Pass offers an extremely unique and diversified fishing experience, well suited for the many varieties of fish, in any kind of weather condition. The screened in fish cleaning room located at ground level is perfect for preparing your freshly caught delicacy.

If and when you get tired of fishing in this wonderful little community you can always pick up a guide and go fishing in St. Joe Bay. Presnell’s Harbor is 10 minutes away and they can fix you up with a guide, the equipment, including license, and find some great action in the bay. They will clean your catch as well, 4 hours cost $100, or so. Want to go deep Sea fishing? See link for some of the greatest deep sea fishing ever. During the season (summer) grab a bucket and go pick scallops yourself. Check out Dead Lakes, check out the Apalachicola River, where 6 rivers come together and create the greatest oyster bed in the world. The Indian Pass compound is a very quiet family oriented, people friendly place. Where you can walk the tiny neighborhood and kids can even ride their bikes. It has a very special ambience and solitude, amidst a very, very unique opportunity to be one with nature.

St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. is just minutes away from 3 PALMS and has wonderful opportunities for fishing, surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking and just plain relaxing at the #1 rated beach in the Continental U.S. for 2002 .
